Meet Yael Hallak Mental Health Counselor

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), researcher, and writer with a deep interest in how people make decisions, relate to themselves, and find their voice in moments of uncertainty. My work is grounded in a humanistic, relational approach and integrates evidence-based practices such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and insights from Internal Family Systems (IFS). I have experience working with individuals navigating anxiety, addiction and recovery, life transitions, and questions of identity, responsibility, and self-trust. My clinical work is also informed by my research on habit change, decision-making, and the psychological experience of using medications such as GLP-1s. Alongside my clinical work, I write for Haaretz and conduct qualitative research. I bring to my work both clinical training and a broader curiosity about people’s lived experiences, and I see therapy as a collaborative process of listening closely, thinking together, and gradually building a more trusting relationship with oneself.
